Objectives

  • Reconnect with dormant champions without sounding transactional.
  • Drive 10+ warm conversations in five days and log outcomes for People Ops visibility.
  • Feed insights back into Job Tracker + FleetBeacon dashboards so HR can quantify reach-outs.

Sprint Blueprint

| Day | Focus | Outputs | Assets | | — | — | — | — | | 1 | Signal Mapping | Priority matrix of 20 contacts | Priority Matrix | | 2 | Message Crafting | Outreach drafts personalized with NewsCompass intel | Outreach Scripts | | 3 | Conversations | At least two virtual coffees (30 min) logged | Conversation prompt doc (coming soon) | | 4 | Follow-up & Referrals | Tracker updated with asks + intros | Follow-up Template | | 5 | Retro & Metrics | Sprint retro form + FleetBeacon event submissions | /assets/forms/networking-sprint-retro |

Influence vs. Effort Matrix (Day 1)

High Influence ───────────────────────────────
| Champion | Advocate |
| Reactor | Rookie |
└─────────────── Effort (Low ➜ High)

Locate contacts in the matrix to decide who to ping first; keep momentum by alternating high-impact + low-effort touches.

Outreach Building Blocks (Day 2)

  • Hook: Quote a hiring or mentorship signal from NewsCompass.
  • Mutual Value: Mention how you can support them (intel, talent, beta access).
  • CTA: Ask for a 20-minute catch-up, referral, or async feedback.

🔁 Automation Tip: Feed your outreach drafts into FleetComms sequences so nurture emails remind you to follow up automatically.

Conversation Playbook (Day 3)

  1. Warm up with genuine curiosity (no asks for the first five minutes).
  2. Share one insight from Career Intelligence Feed relevant to their org.
  3. Explore collaboration: roles, advisory gigs, cohorts needing help.
  4. Close with a specific ask (“Would you intro me to ___?”) and confirm permission to follow up.

Follow-up Discipline (Day 4)

Track every response in Job Tracker notes so FleetBeacon can visualize outreach velocity. Use the follow-up template to capture:

  • Summary of chat
  • Next steps
  • Deadline for checking back in
  • Referral/intro status

Retro + Reporting (Day 5)

Submit the sprint retro form and trigger networking_touch_logged events (payload includes org_id + cohort_id). HR dashboards will show how many alumni conversations converted into interviews or referrals.

Visibility Tip: Post highlights in the org’s #alumni-updates Slack channel so leadership sees goodwill moments in real time.

Success Benchmarks

| Metric | Target | Dashboard | | — | — | — | | Warm conversations scheduled | 10+ per cohort | FleetBeacon networking_touch_logged | | Referral introductions secured | 3+ per cohort | networking_referral_received | | New interviews generated | 5+ within 2 weeks | Job Tracker interview pipeline |

Celebrate any cohort that beats these targets by shipping a mini-case study to People leadership.

Automation Hooks

  • FleetComms: Append this sprint to the Transition Ally journey at week 3 so alumni know what to do next.
  • FleetBeacon: emit networking_touch_logged, networking_referral_requested, and networking_referral_received for real-time analytics.
